1093 times back My wifes 2004 beetle has a similar concern..,,the alternatoor black cable to the fuse block was burned and the one hundred fifty amp fuse connection was burned open.. so the alternator wasn't charging the battery. .leading to the vehicle to run on the battery then when the battery voltage was to small.

Did get to MA early night, checked lights all over again & observed that brake lights were not Doing work & far more. VW vendor in city checked it out following day & mentioned thirty amp fuse for lights was melted w/fuse block, which they eradicated & replaced. Seems I am not the initial man or woman - VW promptly reported they'd refund the $531 it cost, which tells me They are knowledgeable it is a fault of theirs. Carlton S. said
